Mobility Service gratitude and call for volunteers

St. Marys Journal Argus

Dear Editor:

St. Marys and Area Mobility Services’ mission is to provide transportation services to seniors, those recovering from illness or injury, and people with varying abilities in St. Marys and the surrounding areas.

It is an essential part of our community and greatly contributes to the independence and quality of life for many people.

This summer we held fundraiser hotdog BBQs at Stonetown Foodland. The response from our community was even better than past summers! We would like to thank our volunteers who assisted with the event, the members of our community who supported the service by purchasing a hotdog or donating, and Stonetown Foodland for donating all of the food items for the BBQs.

These barbeques are important as they raise fundraising dollars to improve and help subsidize our service as well as awareness for Mobility Services in our community. In total $551.95 was raised!

We also hosted a fundraiser breakfast BBQ at the Trunk Sale on Aug. 23 in conjunction with St. Marys Senior Services. Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who supported these services. Over $250 was raised!

If you have questions about St. Marys Mobility Service please contact us at 519-284-4010, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Mills
