Walter Woodworth

Walter “Woody” Woodworth passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital. Woody resided in Millbank and was born 49 years ago in Breslau and was the son of the late Donald and Donna (Wilson) Woodworth.

Beloved husband of Elaine Cunningham. Dear father of Misty Woodworth of Ripley, Natasha and husband Roy Conkwright of Burlington, Dean Woodworth of Ripley, and Jesse Cunningham and friend Katrina Macpherson of Millbank. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Deserai, Destini, Erin and Cash.

Remembered by his sister Laura and husband Steve Welch of Petrolia, and mother-in-law Viviean Cunningham of Limehouse. Also remembered by his brothers-in-law and a number of nieces and nephews.

Woody was predeceased by his father-in-law Ralph Cunningham.

Woody was very passionate about what he did in the livestock industry.

Family and friends were received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, Milverton on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Monday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation followed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Perth County.

Marie Robinson

Marie Louise (Werner) Robinson, formerly of Gorrie, passed away at the Coleman Care Centre, Barrie on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014. Born in Harriston on Sept. 19, 1920, Marie was 94.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Lorne Robinson (April 25, 1997). She will be sadly missed by her children Linda Robinson of Fergus and Brian and Susan Robinson of Barrie; her grandchildren Andrena and Christina; and great-grandchildren Josh, Andrew and Ashley.

Predeceased by her brothers Carl, Bill and Don and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harold and Margaret Robinson.

Friends were received by the family for one hour prior to the funeral service being held at the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jeff Hawkins of Gorrie United Church. Interment in Gorrie Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Gorrie United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Ruth Everett

Ruth (Hoffman) Everett of RR 3 Brussels passed away peacefully at her residence and surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014. Born in Toronto on March 11, 1953, Ruth was 61.

Ruth was the beloved wife of 39 years to Lawrence and will be sadly missed by her children Luke Everett of Kitchener, Anita and Dominic Kurz of Listowel and Nicole and her fiance Richard Macinnis of Kitchener. Also loved by her brother Pastor Peter Hoffman and his wife Jan of Chicago, and her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Anita Hoffman.

At Ruth’s request, cremation has taken place. Ruth’s life was celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Hardwood Haven in Listowel officiated by her brother Pastor Peter Hoffman.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the London Regional Cancer Centre ( would be appreciated by the family.

Roger Roth

With great sadness, we announce Roger William Roth passed away suddenly at his home in Gowanstown on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at age 63.

Beloved husband for over 43 years to Jane (Standen) Roth. Dearest father of Chris Roth and Colleen of Guelph and Sarah Gerber and Jason of Mitchell, and grandfather to Kiefer Roth. Lovingly remembered by many friends, family and pets.

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.

Predeceased by her brother-in-laws John, Robert, and Steven Stratton.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Listowel on Tuesday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating.

Jerry Potts

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Gerald (Jerry) Potts at Vancouver General Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. Jerry was just two days shy of his 75th birthday.

Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife Heather. Dear father of Jodi and Steve Aslin of Whitby and Jayson and Barb Potts of Vancouver. Proud grandpa of Jamie and Kelsey Aslin and Andrew and Alex Potts.

He will be fondly remembered by Heather’s children, Janice and Claudio Fortey, Kirste and Glen Fenwick, Meghan and Patrick Majo,r and Brigid and Bart Sendorek; and grandchildren Brandon, Jacob, Skylar, Vaughn, Nicole and Charlotte.

Brother of Beth and Leonard Lucas of Listowel, Ida and Larry O’Shaughnessy of Sundridge, Jim and Shirley Potts of Cambridge, Pat and Glen McClement of Listowel and Susan and Ron Coghlin of Listowel. Jerry will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sisters Gladys, Georgina, Margaret and Luella and brothers William and Ronald.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Listowel Golf Club.

At Jerry’s request, his ashes will be scattered with his wife Heather’s on a lake near the cabin where they shared many happy times.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Rita McCannell

Mrs. Rita Irene (Tutton) McCannell of Listowel passed away peacefully at Caressant Care, Listowel on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014. She was 91 years of age.

Rita was the loving wife of the late Donald McCannell (2002). She will be sadly missed by her sons Stuart and Linda McCannell of Guelph, David and Fern McCannell of Port Moody, B.C., and Ronald McCannell of Mount Forest.

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Craig McCannell, Shannon McCannell and her fiancé Matthew Eckerman, Leah Cooke and her husband Stephen, Mark McCannell, and Carleigh McCannell. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Tutton, and sister Vivian and Frank Lehoux.

Predeceased by her son Raymond McCannell (1974), by her sister Jeanne Colautti and husband John, and by her sister-in-law Shirley Tutton.

Very special thanks to the thoughtful and caring staff at Caressant Care, and to Diane Hymers and the volunteers from the North Perth Community Hospice.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. The funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Monday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. Rev. Don McCallum officiated. Interment in Molesworth Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the North Perth Community Hospice would be appreciated.
