Running in the rain

Stratford Gazette

Despite the rain, hundreds of participants, young and old, turned out for the annual Hog Jog charity run Wednesday, June 18 as part of the 41st Ontario Pork Congress.

This year's event included the always popular Weaner Run for kids six and under, as well as a 10 km and 3.5 km run/walk, and raised important funds for the Stratford Wellspring Cancer Support Centre.

The centre provides support to those with cancer, their families and caregivers, as well as for non-medical support services like peer support, a lending library and resource centre, and educational sessions.

Following the runs participants enjoyed a pork meal and an awards ceremony.

The Hog Jog has raised over $200,000 for various charitable causes over the years.
