Grace Browne

Grace Caroline (Cochrane) Browne passed away peacefully at the Fordwich Village Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the age of 97.

Grace was the loving wife of the late Peter C. Browne, who predeceased her in March of 1991. She will be sadly missed by her children Doug and Brenda Browne of Fordwich, Louise Strong of Listowel, Marie and Wayne White and Jean and John Martin all of Welland, Lorna Knoblauch of Gowanstown, Ted and Loretta Browne of Atwood and Peter and Kim Browne of Tottenham. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her son Bruce in infancy, her parents Blanche and Clarence Cochrane, two sisters, two brothers, one great-granddaughter, and sons-in-law Perry Strong and Daryl Knoblauch.

Friends were received by the family on Monday, April 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted at Trinity Anglican Church, Fordwich on Tuesday, April 22 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Laura Lightfoot. Pallbearers were Ted Browne, John Martin, Wayne White, David Martin, Scott Cornwall and Jacob Cornwall. Burial in Gorrie Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Residents Council of the Fordwich Village Nursing Home or the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.

Erlme Fisher

Erlme Anne Fisher passed away quietly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the age of 78.

Erlme was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Missionary Society.  She taught school in Howick Township, Carrick Township, Maryborough Township, City of Brampton and at the Midwestern Regional Centre for many years.  Erlme’s stories and love of her very good friends will be missed.

Erlme was the daughter of the late Clifford and Isobel (Dixon) Stewart. She was predeceased by her brother Alex in infancy, her brother Beverley and nephew Sean.

At Erlme’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 25 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. Interment in Clifford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to acknowledge Erlme’s life are asked to make a donation to a charity of one’s choice.

Florence Baumont

Florence (Merkley) Beaumont (nee Weppler), formerly of St. Jacobs and Conestogo, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Caressant Care, Listowel, age 96 years.

Beloved wife of the late Clayton Merkley (1965) and the late Clifford Beaumont (2001). Dear mother of Shirley Bard of Listowel and stepmother of Leo Beaumont and Ann Bertens. Loving grandma of Shelly Digby (Rick) and Sharon Klein. Great-grandma of Cindy Uuldriks, Kevin and Christine Klein, Peter Bertens and Amy Bertens.

Predeceased by her grandsons Mitchell and Matthew Bard and great-grandson BJ Struth; her sisters Gertrude, Wilhelmine, Margaret and Clara and her brothers Henry and Frederick Weppler.

The family will receive their relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira where funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m. with Rev Ralph Dwarika officiating. Interment in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery, Conestogo.

In Florence’s memory, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
