Patricia Jacobson

Patricia Ann Jacobson (nee Dorscht)

Nov. 25,1959 – Dec. 9, 2013.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St South, Fergus. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. A service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital Building Fund or Juvenile Diabetes Research.


Isabelle Acheson

Mrs. Mary Isabelle Marie (Reist) Acheson, formerly of Listowel and Elmira, passed away at Caressant Care, Harriston on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the age of 86.

Wife of the late Wilfred Acheson. Mother of Ronnie and Dianne Acheson of Kenilworth, Gary Acheson of Harriston, Nancy and Brian Hymers of Kinloss, Paul Acheson, Ken Acheson, and Karen Ladd and her friend Randy Burnett, all of Listowel.

Grandmother of Joseph and Kathy Acheson, and Wilfred Acheson and Melinda, all of Orillia, Ronnie and Dierre Acheson of Elmira, Cathy and Toby Tolffmeyer of Harrow, Robert Carney of Guelph, Elizabeth Carney and Martin Hillis of Kenilworth, David and Sandra Acheson of Listowel, Susan Acheson of Toronto, Steven Hymers and Joy Mabee of Alberta, Lisa Hymers and John Darroch of Listowel, Bill and Christina Hymers of Palmerston, Tanya and Richard Sherwood of Fordwich, Sonya Acheson and Jim Corniss of Rockwood, Chrissy Acheson of Brussels, Paulena and Jim Sauder of Cambridge, Melissa Rediker, Jessica Rediker, and Ted Ostrom and Stephanie, all of Kitchener, Alice and Brad Popp of Moorefield, Stephanie and David Winkel of Clifford, Margaret Ladd and her friend of Listowel, Katrina and Jeremy Sands of New Hamburg, and Amanda Ladd and her friend Matt of Barrie. Great-grandmother of 51, and great-great-grandmother of 11.

Sister of Carrie Good of Kitchener, and Arnetta Lebold of Exeter.

Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Janice Acheson, son-in-law Steven Ladd, and by her siblings Sarah Schlueter, John Reist, Winnie Stanners and Nelson Reist.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Tuesday, April 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 11 a.m. Spring interment in Donegal Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Lloyd Klein

Lloyd Harvey Klein passed away suddenly at the St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the age of 84.

Beloved husband of the late Vera (Pankhurst) Klein. Loving father of Norma Rooke (Brian) of Ipswich, England and Terry Klein (Judy) of Aldergrove, B.C.  Cherished grandfather of Justin Klein of B.C. and Tyler Klein of Edmonton.

Dear brother of Ruth Hartung and predeceased by Beatrice Emke, Eileen Johann and Morris Klein. Also survived by special niece and nephew Debbie and Dan Deir and many other nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday, April 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland at a later date.

In memory of Lloyd, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Centennial Road Church would be gratefully appreciated by the family.

Agnes Lyons

Agnes Lyons, beloved wife of the late Gordon Lyons, formerly of West Wawanosh Township, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 28, 2014 at age 93.

She was born in Huron Township on Sept. 16, 1920 to the late Edith (Robb) and John Henry.

Dear mother of John (Helen) Lyons of Londesborough, Mel Lyons of St. Helen’s, Lynda (Jeff) Croskill of Listowel and Murray Lyons of Whitechurch. Also greatly missed by eight grandchildren: Sara (Sean) Pellow, Tim (Ang) Lyons, David Croskill (Hannah Hori), Mike (Stacey) Lyons,  Julie Croskill, Lori (Rick) Monaghan, Bradley Lyons and Christopher Lyons; seven great-grandchildren: Amye, Bayley, Malia, Hadley, Boden, Kaleb and Connor; and sister Irene Bradley of Tiverton. Fondly remembered by Judy Lyons of Wingham.

Predeceased by brother Melville Henry, sister-in-law Mildred Henry and brother-in-law Stuart Bradley.

Visitation was held at MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Saturday, March 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was conducted in the chapel on Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m. with Rev. George Russell officiating.  Spring interment in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

Donations to Listowel Memorial or Wingham hospitals or the CNIB are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mr. Ronald Clayton “Norm, Greeny” Green of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the age of 66.

Best friend of Fran Schill and loving father of Natalie. Cherished brother of Linda and Butch Stead of Kitchener, and Elaine and Dan Roth of Listowel. Loving son-in-law of Ralph and Betty Schill of St. Jacobs, and brother-in-law of Julie Duchaine and Al Darnbrough of Plattsville, and Steve Schill and his friend Lorella of Elmira. Forever remembered by nieces and nephews Sheri, Kelsey, Kyle and Caleigh, Joelle, Jalyssa, Dana, Kandice and Andrew.

Predeceased by his parents Clayton (1987) and Winnifred (2013), and his brother Larry “Chuck” (2005).

Ron was a long-time employee of Listowel Motor Supply and Motion Auto Parts, and the best damn parts man there was.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, April 3 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel on Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. We then invite you to join us at the Listowel Legion on Saturday, April 12 from 1-4 p.m. to reminisce and celebrate Ron’s life with family and friends.

Mr. Lyle Roy Ronald of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 89.
