The Perth County Visitors’ Association (PCVA) is a non-profit organization that promotes tourism and economic development in Perth County.
The PCVA creates events and attractions which we feel will benefit businesses across the County. We host the Forbidden Ride motorcycle event and the Wicked Ride motorcycle event. We help promote artisans at the Perth County Welcome Centre in Shakespeare, and are proud partners in the Shakespeare to the Shoreline program and the Buy Local Buy Fresh Map.
One of the attractions we would like to encourage in this coming year and beyond is a Straw/Hay Bale Sculpture Tour. The tour would include local farms that create straw or hay bale sculptures and, if possible, the sculpture could be placed with someone that would have farm gate sales of local food.
We will map out the locations of the sculptures and the local food that is for sale. The map will also have some trivia on it and interesting facts regarding Perth County agriculture.
The PCVA will be promoting the tour and enticing people to travel throughout Perth County checking out the sculptures and purchasing local food from the farm gates.
This is a wonderful opportunity for your business to be recognized and promoted with very little investment on your part. If you don’t have straw, but want to participate, I would suggest contacting one of your local farmers and seeing if they would be interested in partnering with you on this venture.
We would like to see this turn into a very successful attraction that brings great benefits to your business.
As an added bonus all the participants will be entered into a draw to win a weekend away at the Forest Motel, two tickets to the Stratford Festival, dinner gift certificate, and a gift certificate from the Artisan Market.
Please contact me at email@example.com or 519-603-3724 if you feel you would like to participate in this attraction. Any questions please call or email. The deadline for submissions is April 15. We would like the tour to be ready by the beginning of July.
