Geertje Zyta

Mrs. Geertje (Geluk) Zyta of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care, Listowel on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the age of 99.

Wife of the late Hendrik Zyta. Mother of Agnes and Ken Kramp of RR 2 Arthur, Adriann and Yvonne Zyta of Listowel, Greta Smith of Goderich, Levina and Bob Yule of Listowel, Nella Blake of Wingham, and John and Karen Zyta of RR 1 Atwood. She will be remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her son Dirk Zyta, granddaughter Bonnie Blake, great-grandson Zachary Zyta, and son-in-law Harold Orth.

A family funeral service was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday, Jan. 10 with Rev. Don McCallum officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to Caressant Care Residents Council would be appreciated.

Gertrude Koch

Mrs. Gertrude Mae (Willis) Koch of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of the late Roy Koch. Mother of Thelma and Bruce Hallman of Listowel, Norman and Marlene Koch of Nanaimo, B.C., and Audrey and Dennis Luckhardt of Monkton.

Grandmother of Connie Woolsey of Renfrew, Mike and Tracy Hallman, and Cara Sturgeon, all of Listowel, Jackie and Alvin Chellew of Ladysmith, B.C., Jenn and Katrina Koch of Chillicack, B.C., Graham and Cindy Koch of Campbell River, B.C., Sara and Pat Langer of Listowel, Ryan and Jenn Luckhardt of Langdon, Alberta, and Amy Luckhardt of Calgary, Alberta. Great-grandmother of 15 and great-great-grandmother of six.

Sister of Mildred McConnell of Guelph and Vera Miller of Gowanstown, and sister-in-law of Allen Bernard.

Predeceased by her brother Bill Willis and by her sisters Irene Spears, Lola Bernard and Betty Russell.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. Spring interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Carol Daniel

Mrs. Caroline Lauretta (Debniak) Daniel of Listowel passed away at Meadow Park, London on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at the age of 80.

Beloved wife of the late A. Douglas Daniel, who predeceased her in 2008. Dear mother of Cathy and Huey Kraan, and Glenn Nielsen, all of London, and stepmother of Victor and Maria Daniel of Arva.

Loving grandmother to John Pouliot of London and Jessica Waller, Christian Nielsen and Katarina Kraner of Calgary, Alberta, Sarah and Daniel Jeffrey of Stratford, Lindsay and Corey Greene of Peterborough, and Lisa and Rob Depencier of London; and great-grandmother to Emma and Zoe Waller, Sam and Adam Jeffrey, Grace and Ellie Depencier, and Corey Greene.

Also survived by her loving nephew Wayne Pellezzon of Angus.

Predeceased by her brother Ronald Debniak, and sisters Elsa Dominquez and Francis Pellezzon.

Carol was a 40-year resident of the Molesworth and Listowel area and longtime member of the Molesworth Women’s Institute.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday, Jan. 17 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m.

Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Anna McNichol

Anna Dickson McNichol (nee Somerville) of Seaforth passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at the age of 89.

Loving mother of Don (Jan) of Waterloo, Gary (Kelly) of Walton, Neil of Seaforth, Marg Lamont (Bruce) of Seaforth, Ray (Linda) of Listowel, Dianne Miller (Jim) of Mitchell, Jim (Danica) of Seaforth, Murray (Cathy) of Walton and Larry (Kathy) of Walton.  Cherished Grandma of 27 and Great-Grandma of 42.

Dear sister-in-law of Mildred Petley of London, Wilma Wildfong (Roy) of Mitchell, Dorothy McNichol of Seaforth and Carmetta Hayes of Woodstock. Anna will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Ralph McNichol (May 23, 2000); one grandchild, two great-grandchildren; and her siblings Archie (Cora), Walter (Margaret), Helen Kirkby (Lou), Grace Smith (Gilbert) and Dorothy Driscoll (Ross).

Private visitation was held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home in Seaforth on Friday, Jan. 10. A celebration of Anna’s life was held at Northside United Church in Seaforth on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. Mr. Bruce Whitmore officiated the service and a luncheon immediately followed at Cavan United Church in Winthrop. Spring interment will take place at Maitland Bank Cemetery, Seaforth.

Betty Wray

Mrs. Betty Irene (Hawke) Wray of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of Jim Wray. Dear mother of Sheila and Ken Rich of Fordwich, and the late James Wray.

Sister of Phyllis Guthrie and Leroy Kemp of Zellwood, Florida, and sister-in-law of Bert and Helen Wray of Durham, and Dick and June Wray of Stratford.

A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel in the spring.  Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
