Birthday Bob's big donation

Bob Jenson may not be able to speak but many people who have worked with him — through the Association for Community Living, who helped him move here from his hometown of Woodstock many years ago — or got to know him through his always-smiling interaction on the sidewalks, coffeeshops or community events, know he’s an animal lover. So it was no surprise that, when a party was held to celebrate Jenson’s 80th birthday, his niece requested that dog and cat food be donated instead of gifts.

On Monday, Nov. 4, with help from his Community Living support worker, he delivered the donated pet food to two local agencies that will put it to good use: The St. Marys Veterinary Clinic, which cares for captured stray cats; and the Kismutt dog rescue centre, well-known for taking in and adopting out dogs raised in puppy mills or found wandering at large.
