The team at Simple Dreams Stratford is once again organizing a Thanksgiving turkey dinner giveaway for 120-150 lucky individuals in the hopes they will share in the holiday spirit with others in need.
The meals will be distributed on Oct. 10 and will include a turkey, 10 pounds of potatoes, vegetables, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Charity founders, Richard and Ruth Kneider, only ask that anyone wanting a meal answer two questions: who will you invite to share the meal with, and why have you invited that person.
The whole idea of the giveaway, said Richard, is to provide fellowship to those who might otherwise not enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, whether they are a neighbor who was recently widowed or someone who can't afford the meal.
The hope is that more than 700 people will be able to benefit from the free dinner.
Anyone interested is asked to contact the Kneiders at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 519-393-5537.
Now in its third year, the turkey giveaway was made possible through the proceeds raised by the Passport to Savings, a coupon book offered annually by Simple Dreams and the Kiwanis Club of Stratford.
