Jean Arthurs

Jean Elizabeth Arthurs passed away at the Applefest Lodge in Brighton, Ontario on Sunday, May 26, 2013, age 94 years. Daughter of the late Alexander Boyd and the late Elizabeth (Nelson).

Beloved wife of the late Elsmere Arthurs. Loving mother of Keith Arthurs, Glenda and her husband Frank Myers, all of Brighton, and Elizabeth and her husband Wayne Schurman of Greenwood, Nova Scotia.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren Karen (Greg), Jaan, Kevin, Jodi (Tom), Matthew (Natalie) and Erin (Marcel); great-grandchildren Kathryn, Sarah, Noah and Nathan; and her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her three sisters, four brothers, and her daughter-in-law Mary “Dolly” Arthurs.

Cremation, with interment in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, Nova Scotia.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of the Walas Funeral Home, Brighton.


Winnie Green

Mrs. Winnifred Margaret (Coates) Green of Listowel passed away peacefully at Caressant Care, Listowel on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of the late Clayton Green. Mother of Ron Green and Fran Schill of Listowel, Linda and Butch Stead of Kitchener, and Elaine and Dan Roth of Listowel. Grandmother of Sheri, Kelsey, Kyle (Caleigh) and Natalie, and great-grandmother of Teri (Brian), Markus and Adam.

Sister-in-law of Jim McIlroy of Palmerston, and Dorothea Green of Milverton.

Predeceased by her son Larry “Chuck”, her brothers Eric and Robert, and by her sisters Pearl Coates and Dorothy McIlroy.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday, June 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. Rev. Steven Cox officiated. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
