The Stratford Splash Pad Committee is gearing up for a busy June filled with fundraising events throughout the community.
This Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the committee will be hosting a donor appreciation and community barbecue fundraiser at Anne Hathaway Park, the future site of the splash pad.
At 11 a.m. there will be a cheque presentation with the committee’s large donors. M&M Meats will also be on site grilling and there will be activities for the children including face painting, games and a bouncy slide.
From June 3-7, Molly Blooms in Stratford will be donating $1 from every lunch sold to the Cash for Splash Campaign. Also on June 7, the Dairy Queen in Stratford will donate all net proceeds from the day.
On Friday, June 21, Blue Rodeo will take the stage at the William Allman Arena as part of the Stratford Blues & Ribfest. Tickets are available at bluerodeo.com and ticketwindow.ca. The show will benefit the splash pad campaign as well.
“The support from the community, especially from our local business friends, has been outstanding,” reads a Splash Pad committee press release.
“Our campaign sign is now up at Anne Hathaway Park, we are at $111,000 in donations to date, and with the partnership with the Stratford and Area Home Builders Association, and more donations continuing to roll in, we are quite confident that we will reach our goal of a ground breaking in the fall.”
