Wreford wins Gallery award

Stratford Gazette

Gallery Stratford handed out its 2013 Ann P Gregory award at a ceremony last week.

This year’s recipient is Carrie Wreford, who has volunteered at the Gallery in numerous capacities.

Wreford, who owns and operates Bradshaws and Small-Mart with her husband Jeremy, was key to print and online advertising campaigns to enhance the profile of the organization. She lent her design skills to help implement the vision for the recently launched Gallery website.

Her events such as the Martini Evening and Riedel Wine Tasting brought both resources and new audiences to the Gallery.

“Carrie’s contribution to the growth of the Gallery has been immense,” said Gallery executive director Zhe Gu. “In sharing her creative vision with the community, she has brought new audiences to explore and appreciate contemporary visual art.”

The award was created in 2003 by Wilf Gregory in honour of his wife to acknowledge members of the community for distinguished volunteer contributions to the Gallery.
