Douglas Graff

Douglas Graff passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. Doug was born in Kitchener 64 years ago, a son of Rita (Vollmer) Graff of Millbank and the late George Graff (1994).

Loving brother of Murray and Lee Graff of Woodstock, Larry and Sharon Graff of Kingsville, Gerald (Junior) and Heather of New Hamburg, Nancy and Ed Hollinger of Listowel, Elaine and Cloyd Schiestel of Palmerston, and Sheila and Ed Collinson of Listowel. Also remembered by Lucy and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Doug was predeceased by siblings Joseph, Charles and Janice in infancy and nephew Dwayne Schiestel (2012).

Doug was employed at Budd Automotive for over 30 years. He loved to fish, snowmobile, ATV, and repair and tinker with motors.

Visitation will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Tuesday, March 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6 at 11 a.m. Father Bob Bulbrock officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s RC Cemetery, Hesson.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Acquired Brain Injury Association would be appreciated by the family.

Henk Van Dorp

Henk (Hendrik) Van Dorp passed away peacefully at his home in Listowel, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of 54 years and dearest friend of Beatrice Van Dorp. Loved and sadly missed by his children Susan and Norm Bedard of Monkton, Debra and Peter Herron of Newtonville, and Hank and Crystal Van Dorp of Auburn. Loving Grandpa and Poppa to Isaac, Risa and Benjamin Bedard; Amy, Jake and Kari Herron; and Bailey Van Dorp.

Survived by brother Dirk van Dorp and sister Nel van Eeden Petersman in Holland and sisters-in-law Angelina Orrey, Marg Minto, Silvia Fornataro and Sue Fornataro in Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews in both countries.

Henk was predeceased by his parents Willem and Petronella (van der Eijk) and by one sister and 10 brothers.

Henk immigrated to Canada in 1953 and became a proud Canadian citizen in 1969. He pursued his passion for agriculture and was a well-respected dairy farmer in the Bowmanville area.

For many years Henk was an active member of the Bowmanville Men’s Canadian Club, the Bowmanville Lions Club and later the Atwood Lions Club.

Following retirement, Henk and Beatrice relocated to Listowel, where they hosted Dorterra Bed & Breakfast for 10 years. Henk greatly enjoyed his Coffee Club mornings and fun times spent with Trinity “train” friends.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday, Feb. 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steven Cox officiating.

Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Rose Spielmacher

Mrs. Rosalind Marie (Gilbert) Spielmacher of Listowel passed away peacefully at Caressant Care, Listowel, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at the age of 80.

Beloved wife of the late George Spielmacher. Mother of Charlotte and Rick Heibein of Listowel, Barb Hryniw of Calgary, and Brenda Roy of Toronto and her friend Bruce Jantzi of Listowel. Grandmother of Jeremy and Wanda Heibein, Janene and Rick Cameron, Jake and Jenny Heibein, Laura Askes, Nicholas and Monica Hryniw, Natasha Hryniw and friend John Reppon, Cody Hryniw, Katie Roy, Dawsyn Jantzi, and Andrew Foster. Great-grandmother of Kenzie, Paytin and Reece Cameron, Ellisyn Heibein, Kaylei Hamilton, Karter and Kaleb Askes, Madison and Sierra Reppon, and Brady Clance.

Sister of Jane Steurnol of Palmerston and Ruth Gartz of Kitchener, and sister-in-law of Edith Spielmacher of Renfrew.

Predeceased by her parents Richard and Christina (Lettau) Gilbert, six sisters and two brothers.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Listowel on Friday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. Spring interment in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Hesson.

Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Caressant Care Residents Council would be appreciated.
