Barry Hamilton of Ottawa, formerly of Listowel and Trowbridge, passed away unexpectedly at Ottawa General Hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, one day after his 55th birthday.
Barry was a former member of the Listowel Volunteer Firefighters. He was a fan of hockey and baseball. taking part as a player, coach and umpire. Barry, known as Coon to his family and friends, enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, cooking and listening to the “oldies”.
Loving father of Brent Hamilton and Rebecca Stiller of Toronto, Jessica Hamilton and Zach Martin of Listowel. Dear brother of Bob Hamilton of Elora, Judy and Bill Dunnell of Trowbridge, Doug Hamilton of Elmira, Marg and Frank Young of Goderich, Gus and Janine Hamilton of Mitchell and David Hamilton of Listowel. Also remembered by Kathy Hoover and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy (Tindall) Hamilton, his brother Clifford in infancy, brother-in-law Bob Mathers and sister-in-law Laurie Hamilton.
Barry’s family invited relatives and friends to share their memories at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 2-5 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life followed at 7:30 p.m. with Jennifer Wirt officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice appreciated by the family.
