Carl Subject of RR 1 Monkton passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at the age of 62.
Carl and his wife Joanne were the owners and operators of CJ Truck and Auto Parts Ltd. He was a member of the Central Ontario and the Great Lakes Tractor Pullers Associations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the cottage. His family considered him to be the luckiest gambler in Ontario.
Beloved husband of Joanne (Conforti) Subject, who he was married to for over 40 years. Loving father of Paul and Laurie, Linda and Tim all of RR 2 Brussels, Loretta and Jason of RR 4 Stratford and Cheryl of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Special grandpa of 10 grandchildren.
Son-in-law of Joyce Conforti (Joseph, deceasd). Dear brother of Betty, Dory and Danny, Elaine and John, Ella, Donna, John and Iola, George and Jennifer, Bruce and Sandra and Albert and Sheila; and brother-in-law of Peter, Robert, Margaret, Carol and Steve. Fondly remembered by Terry Dow, Mervin Subject and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Christian and Emma (Marsh) Subject, his brothers Kenneth and Mervin, sisters Madeline and Emmaline, and several nieces and nephews.
Carl’s family invited relatives and friends to share their memories on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood where the service to celebrate his life was held on Thursday Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice appreciated by the family.

Neil Hatt of Brussels passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday Dec. 11, 2012 at the age of 93.
Beloved husband of the late Lucy Atherton (1970) and the late Gladys Guy (1997). Dear father of Margaret Robinson and Stephanie Hatt, both of Waterloo. Stepfather of Nancy and David Bramhill, the late Paul Harrison and his wife Kathy Harrison and Heather and Keith Klemp. Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his two sisters and eight brothers.
To honour Neil’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no period of visitation or service.

Mrs. Willie (Cats) Courtney passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in the Village, Listowel, on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the age of 68.
Beloved wife of the late Jim Courtney. Lovingly remembered by her children, Rick Elzinga and Linda Langton-Kroetsch of Kitchener, Joanne and Tim Grant of Stayner, Wendy and Ron Warnaar of Kitchener, and Jerry and Taralee Elzinga of Walkerton, and by her stepchildren Bob, Dave and Brian and their families.
Oma of Morgan, Erin, Jon, Brad, Blake, Michelle, Cody, Trista, Lisa, Jennifer, Chris, Brandon, Brittany, Daryl and Kelsey; and sister of Joke of the Netherlands.
Wilma will be greatly missed by her devoted dog Tammy.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday, Dec. 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Legion memorial service at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Jeff Hawkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Gowing, Jeff Woods, Keenan, Kenzie and Brandon Johnston and Vern Fry. Interment in Gorrie Cemetery.
