Stratford Gazette

Your Local Market Co-op have won the grand prize of $30,000 in the Co-operators National Co-op Challenge, and will spend the money on free cooking classes in 2013 and updating its YouTube channel to provide more online content.

In addition to the cash award, the Downie Street workers’ cooperative grocery store will receive consulting services, a resource package and a professional video shoot to create a promotional video.

Voting in the competition was done through the Co-operators Facebook page. The co-op finished first in the Ontario region and was then selected from a group of other finalists.
