Alex Henry

Alexander William (Alex) Henry passed away peacefully at his family home in Carthage, Ontario on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family at his side.

Alex was the son of the late David and Helen (Chalmers) Henry and was born 75 years ago on Dec. 12, 1936 in Mornington Township.

Beloved partner of Dianne Rellinger. Loving father of Kevin (Tammy) Henry of Perrault Falls and Shawn (Karen) Henry of Milverton. Loving grandfather of Wyatt and Nash Henry, Becca Henry and Nathan Lewis.

Remembered by sister-in-law Shirley Henry of Kitchener, nieces and nephews and Dianne’s brothers and sisters.

Alex was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Reta (Harvey) (2009), son Michael (2003), grandson Kole, brother Murray, mother-in-law and father-in-law Beatrice and Roland Harvey and brother-in-law Victor Blough and his wife Phyllis.

Family and friends called at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, Milverton on Thursday, Nov.22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. A celebration of Alex’s life was held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. Pastor Chris Beaumont officiated. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Paul’s United Church or Stratford General Hospital - Cancer Unit would be appreciated by the family.

Helen McKnight

Helen McKnight of RR 1 Listowel passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at the age of 85.

Beloved wife of George McKnight. Mother of Nancy Andrews of RR 1 Ariss, and the late Ruth Anne King.

Grandmother of Stacey and Christian Feldskov of Fordwich, Jeff King of Vancouver, and Mike and Susan King of St. Thomas; and great-grandmother of Alexandria, Erik, Abigail, Clark and Landon.

Sister of Carl and Nancy Stief of Owen Sound, and Ken and Valerie Stief of Midland.

Predeceased by her daughter, and by her son-in-law Rick Andrews.

A celebration of Helen’s life was held at Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m., with reception to follow. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.

Memorial donations to Sleeping Children Around the World  would be appreciated.

Lorne McQuinn

It is with great sadness that the family of James Lawrence “Lorne” McQuinn announce his passing at Listowel Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.

Beloved husband of Marlene McQuinn of Listowel. He is loved by his four daughters, Catherine St. John of Walkerton, Carol and Zorko Milutinovich of Guelph, Pauline and Brad Paetz of Kitchener, and Patricia and Robert Wicke of Kitchener.

Grandpa will be missed by his grandchildren, Matt and Chris St. John, Nicholas Milutinovich, Kyle and Mitchel Paetz, and Erin and Lindsay Wicke.

Brother of Helen Seifried of London, Marion and Bernard Benn of Lucan, and Joan and Tony Daciuk of Mount Forest, and brother-in-law of Beatrice McQuinn of Niagara Falls.   Survived also by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents James and Cecelia (Stortz) McQuinn, brother John, sisters Frances Mills (and her husband Carson) and Norma Burke (and her husband Leonard), brother-in-law Ben Seifried, son-in-law Mike St. John, and by his mother-in-law Ella Dittberner.

Lorne was a carpenter for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Listowel, Knights of Columbus, and the Listowel Legion Branch 259.

Russell Jacklin

Russell Jacklin of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care, Listowel, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at the age of 70.

Beloved husband of Grietje. Dear father of AJ and Debbie Jacklin, Rob and Sandra Jacklin, and Mike Jacklin, all of Listowel. Grandfather of Andrew, Kayla, Ashley and Christina.

Brother of Cheryl and Tom Weber of Kitchener, and Marie and Ross Somers of Listowel.

The funeral service was held at First Baptist Church, Listowel, on Friday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m., with visitation for one hour prior. Rev. John Lambshead officiated. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Lorne McQuinn

Lorne’s family received friends at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 1:30, and a Legion memorial service at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel, on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Building Fund or Listowel Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Listowel Memorial Hospital for their kindness towards Lorne.
