Time to make Stratford sparkle

Stratford Gazette

For over 20 years, the Stratford Civic Beautification and Environmental Awareness Committee (CBEAC) has recognized the outstanding efforts of those Stratford residents and businesses who make the city sparkle by decorating their properties in celebration of the Christmas season.

Each year, a winner and runner-up in each of the five residential wards and the commercial/industrial sector is chosen by volunteer judges.

Judging will take place again this year from Friday, Dec. 7 to Tuesday, Dec. 11 between the hours of 6-10 p.m. Citizens are asked to have their lights on during this time.

Judging is based more on artistic design and quality as opposed to quantity. Light, color, themes, bows and boughs and environmental awareness are important elements.

The results of the contest will be announced in the media in time for Stratford and area residents to have the opportunity to view the winning properties during the holiday season. In January, at a reception at the Queen’s Inn, the winners and runners-up will be presented with plaques and certificates.

For additional information about the contest, contact Brenda Ford at 519-272 1706.
