Ruth Smith

Ruth Frances Smith died peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at the age of 81.

Left to mourn are her sisters Florence Smith of RR 1 Gowanstown and Alma Heatwole of RR 1 Stratton, eight nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew.

Predeceased by her parents Abraham and Mary (Hoover) Smith, her sister Annie, brother Clarence, brother-in-law Clarence Heatwole, one nephew, and two great-nephews.

Friends may call at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 9 a.m., then to Brotherston Mennonite Meeting House for burial and further services.

The family would like to thank the Alzheimer Society of Perth County for their excellent support over the years.

Ross Alexander

Ross John Alexander of RR 1 Gowanstown passed away peacefully at Palmerston and District Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of Audrey (Salter) Alexander for 65 years. Dear father of Wesley and Lynda Alexander of Palmerston, Jane and Bill Hutchinson of Wallaceville, Murray and Karen Alexander of Gorrie, Bruce and Jean Alexander of Listowel and Dale and Ang Alexander of Gowanstown.

Loving grandfather of Chris Alexander and Barb Forsythe of Chepstow, Josh and Jacqui Alexander of Gowanstown, Shannon and David Harris of Cambridge; Laurie and Clint Komenda of Waterloo, Steven and Jenn Hutchinson of Belmore, Devin and Ryan Walsh of London; Anthony Alexander of Gorrie, Terri Alexander of Brussels; Mike and Cheryl Alexander of Listowel, Sarah Alexander and Nate Smith of Atwood, Matt Alexander and Crystal Orth of Atwood; Shauna, Stephanie and Tyler Alexander of RR 1 Gowanstown. as well as Rhonda, Krista and Chad Brown. Cherished grandfather of 24 great-grandchildren

Brother of Don and Ellen Alexander of Wallaceville. Brother-in-law of Margaret Salter of Mississauga, Marion Wilson and Audrey Wilson, both of Palmerston. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Emerson and Edith (Manning) Alexander, and one brother William Alexander, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Carl Salter, Russell Wilson, Gordon Wilson, and Gordon and Cora Cherrey

The family received friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Sunday, Nov. 4. Rev. Jeff Hawkins conducted the funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

As expression of sympathy, donations to Palmerston Hospital Foundation, Almost Famous Players or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Dwayne Schiestel

Dwayne Schiestel of Milverton passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Monday Oct. 29, 2012 at the age of 39.

Beloved son of Cloyd and Elaine (Graff) Schiestel of Palmerston. Dear brother of Michael Schiestel and Kelly Schiestel, both of Palmerston. Special uncle of Fenton.

Grandson of Rita Graff of Millbank. Fondly remembered by his cousin Bill Helmka, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by his grandparents George Graff and Matthew and Dell Schiestel.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Milverton Food Bank or a charity of one’s choice appreciated by the family.
