New headstone installed

Stratford Gazette

Jeff Heuchert, Stratford Gazette

The headstones for Perth County's first settler and two of his family members were returned to their rightful place, on the Fryfogel Tavern property east of Shakespeare, Thursday afternoon.

The structures were damaged a number of years ago in two separate vehicle accidents.

The other markers are for Sebastian's young son Henry and his father Jakob. The headstones were secured to what remained of their bases using a combination of large pins and epoxy, with marble mortar used to hide any blemishes.
