Lending a hand

Stratford Gazette

With Habitat for Humanity Stratford-Perth’s 2012 build in Stratford nearing completion later this month, it got a helping hand from a group of women on Friday who were participating in the local Habitat chapter’s first Women Build Day.

“You tend to see men dominate the builds in terms of volunteering, so this was just a great chance for us to get women in the community involved,” said Habitat’s Chelsey Gordon-Edmonds.

The 10 women, who were among the roughly 150 volunteers to help out with the build so far, raised close to $1,500 towards the project.
