Dance for all ages

Stratford Gazette

The Alzheimer Society of Perth County, Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence and On Stage Dance Studio came together Wednesday to celebrate dance.

The dance, which was filmed by students from Stratford Central, was held in the parking lot at Anne Hathaway and feature some of the home’s residents and staff members, staffers from the Alzheimer Society, dancers from On Stage and students from Jeanne Sauve Catholic School.

The goal of the event was to offer an intergenerational activity while increasing community awareness and promoting the Alzheimer Society’s Aging with Vitality program.

When completed, the dance will be posted on YouTube.

“It was a wonderful event that enabled children and seniors to interact in a positive and fun way,” said Sheri Gilhula, education co-ordinator, Alzheimer Society of Perth County. “Many smiles, handshakes and High 5s were shared.”
