Active Adults prepare for busy June

The Stratford Lakeside Active Adults Association (SLAAA) is preparing to roll our the welcome mat during the month of June with a busy slate of activities lined up.

Its annual barbecue and talent show kicks off the events on Monday, June 4 from 11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Kiwanis Community Centre on Lakeside Drive.

On June 14 there will be a workshop , in partnership with ONE CARE, called Living Wills and Power of Attorney at the River Garden from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Attorney Paul Parlee will be the workshop’s leader.

On Friday, June 15, there will be an open house at the Kiwanis Community Centre, where the public can visit with SLAAA members from 2 to 4 p.m. During this afternoon event, visitors will be able to enjoy displays, demonstrations, and tours of the facility, all hosted by members of the SLAAA.

Guest speaker Derek Barr, from Chocolate Barr’s, will provide a half-hour chocolate-making demonstration and candy tasting, with samples on hand.
