Let the games begin

Stratford Gazette

The District 29 Senior Games kicked off in Stratford Saturday morning with crokinole at the Kiwanis Community Centre.

Forty participants competed in the tournament – the first of 24 different events scheduled to take place across Perth, Huron and Middlesex counties.

Dignitaries including MPP Randy Pettapiece and Stratford councillor Kerry McManus were on hand to give their best wishes to the competitors.

Other district-level events taking place in Stratford this year include duplicate bridge on May 18, five-pin bowling on May 25 and slo pitch on June 1.

The winners of each event have the opportunity to participate in the Ontario Senior Games in Brampton in August.
