Jacqueline Parry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Nora Parry in her 82nd year on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 in Scarborough General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband Ross McKay Parry; her son David and wife Susan (Gerritsen); grandchildren Melissa, Daniel and Grace; son Andrew and wife Shelley (Phillippe).

Also by sister-in-law Betty Hart; niece Helen Catherine (Cathie) Watters and husband Brian (Andrea and Jeffery), nephew John Beaumont Hart and wife Heather (Jenna and Logan); sister-in-law Shirley Simpson (Charles); nephew Daryl Simpson and wife Danielle (all of Campbell River, B.C.).

Predeceased by her son John Ross Parry; her parents Charles Mansfield Hart and Catherine Mary (Marie) Foster; brother John Beaumont Hart; sister Margaret Charlotte (Peggy) Somers and husbands Vern Somers and Jack McKenna, brother-in-law Stuart Parry; stepfather Bill Howe; grandparents James Alphonse (Alphon) Foster and wife Allota Magdalen (Lottie) Hildebrand and John Beaumont Hart and wife Norah White.

Jacqueline started working at the age of 15 1/2 for the Toronto Convention and Visitor Association and worked there for 16 years. Jacqueline also did volunteer work at the Catholic Information Centre in the Legion of Mary. Later she worked weekends for a number of years in the nursing office at East General Hospital, East York and later retired from Statistics Canada, as a data capture clerk where she worked for 22 years. One of Jacqueline’s hobbies and passions was researching the family tree and sharing her finds with the family.

Family and friends called at the Pine Hills Visitation Centre, Scarborough on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service was held in Pine Hills Chapel on Friday, Dec. 21 at 11a.m.

Pallbearers were sons David and Andrew Parry, grandchildren Melissa and Daniel Parry, nephews John Hart and Brian Watters. Interment in Pine Hills Cemetery.

Florence Reibeling

Florence Reibeling of RR 2 Milverton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at the age of 73.

Florence was a member of First St. John’s Lutheran Church, Seebach’s Hill. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of Harold Reibeling, whom she married in 1958. Loving mother of Gary and Carolyn of Baden, Keith and Lorrie of RR 2 Milverton, Terri’Lynn and Jada Fraser of St. Marys, Cindy and Kevin Ludington of Mitchell, and Janey and Mike Farrish of St. Marys. Special Grandma of 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dear sister of Lyle and Teresa Renecker of RR 5 Stratford and Annabel and Howard Piggott of Innerkip. Sadly missed by the Reibeling family and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by her parents Alf and Ella (Wickie) Renecker.

Florence’s family invited relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood (519-356-2382) on Friday, Jan. 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life was held at First St. John’s Lutheran Church, Seebach’s Hill on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor William Kramer officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to First St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated by the family.

Emerson Weber

Emerson Weber went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at the Fordwich Village Nursing Home, at the age of 90.

Emerson was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Frey) and will be missed by his children Owen (Donna) Weber of Gorrie, Nelson (Viola) Weber of Atwood, Noah (Pauline) Weber of Elmira, Miriam Weber of Gorrie and Mary (Jack) Gault of Shelbourne. Also loved by his sisters Adina Bauman and Leavea (Jake) Wiens, his 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents Onias and Mary Weber, his brothers Onias (Magdalena) and Elam Weber, his sister Sarah (George) Reid, his brothers-in-law Addison Bauman and Grant Schnurr, and a brother and sister in infancy.

Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home and from 11:30 to 12:30 on Thursday, Jan. 10 at Wallenstein Bible Chapel, 4522 Hergott Road, Wallenstein where the funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Burial with family committal to take place in Hawkesville Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons or to the Residents Council of Fordwich Village Nursing Home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Fordwich Village Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care for Emerson during his time there.

Beulah Hammer

Mrs. Beulah Beatrice (Gile) Hammer of Listowel passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the age of 88.

Wife of the late Cecil Hammer. Mother of Barbara and Jim Mehring, and Ron and Sandra Hammer, all of Listowel.

Grandmother of Lisa and Bill D’Arcey, Steven and Jackie Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton and Tracy Beyer, and Trevor and Laura Hammer, and great-grandmother of Jessica and Jaime D’Arcey, Nic and Ben Hamilton, Tyson, Justin, and Kaylee Hamilton, and Nathan and Sarah Hammer.

Sister of Fern and Lloyd Boyne, Shirley and Earl Sturgeon; and sister-in-law of Lorraine Gile, Donna Gile and Dorothy Ducklow, all of Listowel. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Olive (Shoemaker) Gile, brothers Glen, Carl, Ray and John, her sister Ivy Strachan, and by her brothers-in-law Gerry Brame and Ray Strachan.

A family funeral service was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Monday, Dec. 31, with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Mary Anderson

Mary Reid Anderson (nee Gray) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, at the age of 94.

Mary is survived by her sons James (Jo Anne) and Alan (Joanne); her grandchildren Cameron (Karin); Candace, Tara (Cam) and Matthew; great-grandchildren Paige and Everett; niece Brenda Ashley and family of Listowel, and nephew Russel Gray and family of Windsor.

Predeceased by her husband Bert (1998), son Kenneth, grandson Christopher, and her brothers Jim and Nelson Gray.

Patrick Hogwood

Michael Hogwood and Olivia Campbell of Listowel, welcomed Patrick Charles Ivan Hogwood into the world on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Stratford General Hospital, at 6:03 a.m.

Our precious little boy left our world for his place in heaven on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  He will forever be in our hearts and our memories.

Beloved son of Michael Hogwood and Olivia Campbell of Listowel. Grandson of Frank Hogwood and Rosie Langer of Listowel, Deanne Hogwood of Cambridge, and Charlene Campbell of Listowel. Great-grandson of Paul and Roberta Hogwood, and Charlie and Bonnie McEachern, all of Cambridge, Ivan Dodds of Mount Forest, and Barbara Campbell and Bert Stokes of Palmeston. Nephew of Travis Hogwood of Edmonton, and Justin, Carl, and Kayla Langer of Listowel.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 7-9 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, where a private family service will be held on Wednesday. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Ray Brown

Raymond Wellington Brown, of Woodstock and formerly Stratford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Sakura House in Woodstock at the age of 69.

Ray was the son of the late John and Phyllis (Hanna) Brown. He is survived by his wife Laurel (Payne); two stepsons, Carl Kaufmann of Virginia and Keith Kaufmann of Saskatchewan; his brother Donald (Shirley) Brown of Goderich; three sisters, Dorothy (John) Mann of Stratford, Eileen Staddon of Kitchener and Helen (Jim) Ellison of Stratford; brother-in-law Scotty Payne of Saskatchewan; and sister-in-law Joey Cassels of B.C. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Gwen and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Ray served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years.  He was active in the Naval Association, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Stratford Sea Cadets.

At Ray’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Ross Moore

Mr. Ross James Moore of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of Glena (Horne) Moore. Dear father of Valerie and Robert Hay of Toronto, and Bob and Joan Moore of Listowel. Grandfather of Laura Hay and Andrew Hay, both of Toronto. Brother of Lorne Moore of Palmerston.

Predeceased by his sister Shirley Small and her husband Verne, and his sister-in-law Jean Moore.

A celebration of life was held at the Listowel Golf Club on Sunday, Jan. 6 from 3-5 p.m., with a toast to Ross at 3:30 p.m.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Palliative Care would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
