Shout it out

Stratford Gazette

Local groups used their voices to bring awareness to child abuse on Wednesday at the Veterans Drive bandshell.

The second annual Use Your Voice Challenge was hosted by the Child Abuse Prevention team, a group of local agencies working toward developing a community response to child abuse in Perth County.

A decibel reader was used to gauge how much noise each participating group made.

The winners were a group of students from Stratford Central secondary school, who received a rating of 129.5 decibels. To put it in perspective, a jet engine produces about 130 decibels of sound.
